Cinematic Brilliance: A Deep Dive Into The World Of Ultimate Action Cinema

Cinematic Brilliance: A Deep Dive Into The World Of Ultimate Action Cinema – This is a different style of writing for me, but something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. As you know, I am a huge/borderline movie buff. When I watch a movie for the first time and feel something (usually shock, awe, heart-wrenching obsession with cinematography and style .. or really just a set of nerdy emotions), I immediately go to good ol’ IMDB for details. Once I know everything there is to know about said movie, I will always find out who the director is. Once I figured that out, I made it my mission to track down and see EVERYTHING they touched.

I’ll never forget the first time this rabbit hole hunt hit me. It was 2011 and after I saw the trailer for Drake Doremus’ movie “Like Crazy” (which he wrote and directed). Ever since that moment I have been in love with his work.. and I can say with all my heart that he is one of my favorite directors of all time. I think he is one of the great artists of our generation and I will tell you why below.

I remember back in 2011 there was a lot of buzz around the internet about this new movie “Like Crazy”. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and they said it was AMAZING. Drake Doremus reportedly wrote a movie “freely based” on his own life, and managed to shoot the whole thing in just one month for $250,000. When the trailer hit the internet, I was intrigued by some of the short films. minutes. It featured Felicity Jones (who was a relatively unknown actress at the time) and the lovely Anton Yelchin (RIP. So terrible to hear of his death in 2016). This trailer is eerily set to the score of “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” sung by Ingrid Michaelson / and also mixed with a beautiful spoken word poem read by Felicity Jones. I honestly get goosebumps just thinking about it, even almost ten years later. Call me the first in line to see this movie.

Nope’ Review And Deep Dive

On opening night, my sister and I rushed to the local theater. I was almost nervous to see it, after all the hype I had read before.

How to even explain it? It is almost impossible to put into words how I feel, but I will try. From the very first moment, this movie managed to capture such an intimate feeling of being in love, in a small quiet way… the likes of which I have never seen before. The intimate shots were both breathtaking… and at the same time almost intrusive. I felt like I was in the room with these characters and it was almost overwhelming (in the most touching way). The way this movie is shot is done very gently and beautifully. I was absolutely thrilled. This is probably the first time in my life that a movie made me feel so many things at once. He has been an artistic inspiration to me ever since.

My sister and I left the theater almost speechless. He said it almost made him uncomfortable because it felt so real. It felt like we were part of Jacob and Anna’s love story. It was intense to say the least.

Needless to say, for the past 10 years.. I have followed Doremus’ career. Since “Like Crazy” he has made countless SUSPICIOUS movies. What I really like about his work is how different they are in theme..while all portraying the same intimate feeling. Every film has the same approach.. almost breathless to enjoy it.

Drake Doremus is the youngest person ever to be accepted into the AFI Conservatory (Film School), and at the age of 37, he has won several awards. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
